 Baseball This Morning Lite
« Thread Started on Mar 19, 2009, 8:01am »

Anyone else having a tough time embracing this new and improved lineup? The Buckaroo starts 95% of his responses with "yeah or sure is." (from 7:05 to 7:14, 7 times) Scott never seems to get into a flow. His delivery is choppy. I suggest these two fine hosts, get a good nights sleep and renew their commitment to their day job, Baseball This Morning.

One thing Scott Graham said this morning was "I did not actually see it, only highlights". Now I know he may have had other things to do... but preparation for your job would seem to be important. He was talking about the USA/Venezuela game. I know beyond a doubt that MP would have been giving insight from watching the game itself.

I used to make sure (if at all possible) to have BBTM on every morning. Now if I remember to turn it on, fine. But it's not a staple of my morning routine any longer. Also, I find it odd that Buck acts as if he never had a former partner for the morning show. I have yet to hear him reference MP in any way. (maybe the bosses have told him to do this) . I have heard many instances that Scott G. would reference something that MP and Buck would always talk about (but Graham had no clue), but Buck just glosses over it with no mention of things like "we have always done that" or "the past years we have .....".

These people have made "Must Hear Radio" turn into "Well...OK, radio".

As I am always quick to point out shortfalls, allow me to congratulate The Buckaroo on his reduced use of his crutch phrases on Friday. Listeners can only hope that he and Scott find similar magic in smoothing out the delivery. Right now, it's like a gravel road.

The Buckaroo reverted to his crutch phrases again this morning. Sometimes with hypnosis, you have to go back and try it again. I think shock therapy will be ruled out because it might make his hair look like Don Kings.'

Reading these posts can only make me think of MP even more. He was the shinning star of 175, and IMHO he was more passionate about baseball than any one of these replacements. Preparation, consummate professional, witty, great sense of humor, these are the words that come to mind when I think of him. He was the complete package!

The Buckaroo was still on his "crutches" but Scott kept him busy reading stats. Many will agree that is Buck's strength. I made it through the full three hours for the first time since they went lite.

The Buckaroo kept his "yeah, sure is" string intact. I had my blood work done so I missed some of it but he exceeded 50. Tough listening. I keep waiting for improvement but I don't think it's happening.

Gosh, it can't be helping your blood pressure either! Take it easy, Barnesy! It's still only Spring Training! ;)

For those still listening, it was good to hear Mary play "bracketology." They have recently dusted off and brought back Barb. Not even the two most knowledgeable female callers can save Baseball This Morning Lite.

Funny! Pretty special come to think of it! ;D I guess it may not be any of the above after the first hour. :(

Funny didn't come to mind. It's more like tragic. (the blood work too) The Buckaroo seldom uses special any more because he can't fit it in between "yeah and sure is."

Anyone else catch Mary's call? For a brief moment I flashed back to the good old days.

While listening to Baseball This Morning Lite, I typically read sports sections from on line newspapers. Scott and The Buckaroo were playing their bracket game, talking about Buck's golf game and Scott's Junior League squad. After reading The Detroit Free Press, I fired off an e-mail asking for details of Sheffield's release. Twenty minutes later in their last segment, they announced the breaking news. Folks this duo isn't getting it done. Their producers aren't getting it done, "Sirius Management" isn't getting it done. Whether you like Sheffield or not, this was a major news event. They shouldn't need prodding to report it.

Yeh - The Power Alley boys were sure whooping it up about that when I got back from Home Depot this morning. I can't find the "predictions" link but I will make one here: The Tigers will be BETTER with Shef gone. They went to the World Series BEFORE they got him - and have fallen short ever since, and having him gone will lighten the atmosphere, similar to Manny's departure in Boston. Seth and Jim were also discussing the steroid evidence against him (citing Game of Shadows) something that no one has seemed to mention. The guy is the worst kind of clubhouse lawyer. I wonder who will pick him up? :-X
