Scott and The Buckaroo were playing their bracket game, talking about Buck's golf game and Scott's Junior League squad. After reading The Detroit Free Press, I fired off an e-mail asking for details of Sheffield's release. Twenty minutes later in their last segment, they announced the breaking news. Folks this duo isn't getting it done. Their producers aren't getting it done, "Sirius Management" isn't getting it done. Whether you like Sheffield or not, this was a major news event. They shouldn't need prodding to report it.

Heh. I wouldn't know whether they reported it or not. I turned off the radio the instant I heard the word "bracket".

Cheers,

Rosie,
I admire your judgment. I must admit that I will soon follow suit. This bracket thing would have been much better handled in December and January when news is slow.

Barnesy,

I wouldn't blame the hosts for this one. This has jackass management suit written all over it. "Hey, guys, try to make the show as much like March Madness as you can. That's what listeners want to hear!" Little do they realize that there are people who don't give a toss about basketball, and, gosh, that's why they listen to the BASEBALL channel! ::)

Cheers,

Rosie

The Buckaroo and Scott did a good job on the pregame tonight. Maybe they just don't mesh well in the morning. They were plagued with some technical issues so I was forced to go to Baseball Tonight.

I caught a bit of this morning's show - it was painful hearing them trying to reinvent the Power Locks, with Scott having no idea what had gone before (I could imagine MP saying "Thanks for listening!") and Buck trying to pretend it was all new to him as well. :P

Great summation. The hosts are terrible and unethical. What would have been so wrong to pay a little tribute to Mark and why did they feel compelled to tinker with a popular segment?

Could anyone that listened explain what their (the hosts) interpretation of the Power Locks is now and what are they calling it?

They are encouraging fans to name it. I sent in Veto Power to commemorate the debacle they had with their bracket gig. Evidently you can include a batter who must have at least two hits in a winning cause. The producer and call screener are allowed in the scoring as a team. I didn't understand the scoring but I don't think The Buckaroo did either. Sorry, that's the best I can do although I'm unsure if their explanation was any better.

Scott and The Buckaroo continued to fix what wasn't broke. They have some graduated point system and have included hitters with some requirements/stipulations. Most here will remember in the early days, you could pick anyone but the original trio stuck with pitchers. My e-mail to keep calling it Power Locks was reinforced by several callers. I finally sent an unanswered inquiry that if an automobile was called a Mark Patrick, would they be walking?

A show of hands who remember Buck thru the last 4 years berating anyone who called in with alternate rules for the Power Locks? He always said, "why make something simple, so hard with more rules?". Looks like they gone against what was preached for 4 years.

I believe that was one of the Little Known Codicils. ::)

When I heard the first episode (I missed it all today at work) I thought if the were going to butcher it, why not just drop it? By bringing it up, they have only themselves to blame for opening this can of worms! Evidently they were already getting mail about it. But the way it is being handled seems to show just how little they (Buck, Sirius, Chuck D, et al) comprehend what was the "magic" of BBTM. It wasn't ONLY Mark, but obviously without him, something huge is missing. The whole is now less than the sum of its parts. :P

I put better manure around my rose bushes than what Baseball This Morning and The Buckaroo have turned into. It has created a void in my morning but I can't find entertainment or informative value.

It's all so sad, hearing about what has become of BBTM and most of 175. It's like a wounded horse that needs to be put out of it's misery. :(

Sadder when you listen. Right now, it would be a shame to waste a good bullet on this farce.

Oh my, how awful. Thank you for making me feel better and better about cancelling my subscription. It all sounds so forced and grasping at straws for content. PL's and Stay Hots grew organically. These all sound like board room decisions.

Anyone that would like to talk to me about the MLB At Bat application or the iPhone in general, I would be happy to. I am singing the praises about it like I used to when I first got XM 5 yeas ago. Today I removed the XM radio from my car and threw it in the trash.

Right now I am swtiching between the Detroit and Toronto feeds of the game.
