Yeesh. Joe Buck is even worse than John Sterling. I'd rather have the Joe Buck from Midnight Cowboy calling a game.

Nah, I only chose Homer as an avatar because it's the closest thing I could find to a pic of myself. The only difference is that I have hair.

Besides, Homer ain't exactly recent. He's been around longer than Jamie Moyer! ;D

Like many, I signed on when XM stepped to the podium and announced their MLB package. I rarely missed (3times) a Baseball This Morning program or their replay. Now, I dedicate 7-10 to pruning my rose garden, tending to my my fish pond and an early morning trip to the hot tub. In frustration, my roses are shorter than my lawn and my fish are overweight. How long can "Sirius Management" maintain this hoax? If any subscribers are left on this site, I urge you to bombard Sirius with a demand of quality. We deserve a better product. Without consumer pressure, "management" will ride it out.

Casey Stern is sitting in for Scott this week. In a rather strange turn of events, hired gun Barb called and was identified as Barbara from Maryland. (perhaps she has moved from the prestigious McLean,VA address and forced to undergo a name change) Lack of bona fide callers should be an indication to management that they remain in a failure mode.

Like everyone else, I went with XM for the baseball. I was thrilled about getting all of the games, as well as my Extra Innings black out games that I would have missed if it were not for XM. As if that was not enough, I turned on the radio very early one morning and heard all this great baseball talk, plus allot of laughing while also taking calls, and I was hooked.

Yes, I never started my day without BBTM, but I also enjoyed Charlie and his c0ckamamey show, Fantasy Focus, and Joe C at night. Home Plate exposed many of us to the REAL world of baseball. All of the off season stuff that we would never know much about except for what we read, GM meetings, and players from teams and divisions that we were not always familiar with but would now make a point to follow them a little closer after learning more about them from XM. Let us not forget the really good coverage of major events and the list goes on and on. They gave the listeners so much, and then it was gone.

Why can't they see that this is now a sinking ship? Surely someone in XM/Sirius must realize that they are just about done, as far as 175 goes? Such a shame. :(

What about Night Train Ronnie Lane? Anyway, Barb was always pretty knowledgeable. We'll have to see how Barbara does.

I'll keep xm to get the radio calls of my favorite Phillies. I am a true believer in the fact that baseball is a radio sport. I have a hard time sitting down to watch a game, but really can get involved in a radio broadcast playing in the background. After I got XM, I moved away from the Philly area, and I would listen just to hear the local sponsors on the home broadcasts of the Phillies games ... it helps me remember my ancestral roots. I like the music stations (although I believe they have also suffered since the merger) when I get fed up with the lame baseball talk, and listen all day at work to one or the other. I suspect that I will continue to subscribe as long as I am still working anyway.

I too enjoy following the ex-Indians, and just like some of the away broadcasters, and, as Bruce says, the local ads. "Cook's Pest Control" in Atlanta and the KCI Sheet Metal Workers are among my favorites. In the last year XM has left some of the postgame shows on (and occasionally a pre-game), whereas on Extra Innings the show ends with the final out. Ah, XM, I wish I could quit you! :'(

I can't stand when they end the game like that either Mary, and the next thing you see on the screen is GOODNIGHT! That said, they also do one post game show every night and the split screen so you can view more than one game, which DTV had long before. Last night it was the A's post game, and although they are doing things at a much slower pace, Xtra Innings has come a very long way from when it first became available.

I happen to like watching games on TV, unless they are at Oakland because that is one ugly ball field. I enjoy the visual of a well pitched game, or a really great play. There are certain games I have missed very much since I dropped my XM but the good news is, now that I have the iPhone baseball app, I can once again hear the Cubs games which are my favorite games to listen to, as well as all the other teams. When I had XM, I only listened to Sterling and Waldman only when the Yankees were blacked out, or now when I am on the road on my iphone.

I do agree that listening to a game on the radio can be more exciting sometimes, but the key to enjoying the game is having a good play by play guy. The John Sterling Show does nothing for me, and someone should tell him that his material has gotten very stale. Maybe a new sidekick that can actually get in more than 3 words per show might help! Theeeeeeeeee Yankees win should only be used for playoff games and WS. It was fun for a while, but fans are sick of it already. NO WAY could I listen to that every night because my ears would start bleeding!

I can't argue with your assessment of Sterling, except to say that probably NO sidekick could get in more than 3 words. :-X

Scott Graham returns Monday. In his absence, listeners quickly realized he is only half the problem.

I was able to catch the last 30 minutes of the broadcast, and the power locks make no sense to me. What is the sound effect that they use? Who is Peabody? What is the purpose of the hitter?
